Jack Irving created an incredibly rich, original soundtrack for Mother Midnight that gave it both a unique tone and further brought out the themes and mood of the piece. Having read early drafts of the script and having been involved in the project from its inception, Jack brought a unique vision to Mother Midnight.
The musical landscape he created for the film became an integral part of the edit and lent the visuals a distinct tonal identity.
“It was a real joy to compose music for this heartfelt, tender, and frankly beautiful film, and I am so proud of what we made. As a musician, having talented actors, beautiful images, and an exceptional story to bounce of off is like creative rocket fuel for the brain.
The creation of the music was a direct collaboration between myself, Mike, and the story itself. I just listened carefully, and followed the rabbit down the rabbit hole, and the music just kind of happened. I do hope that you all enjoy listening to these little sound worlds as much as I enjoyed making them. Thank you to amazing team behind the movie.
